Innovation and AI are for everyone and it is a team sport. That is why we established the AI and Digital committee at CGH. Thank you CEO, CMB, CDDO, CHRO, CAHO, COO, CIO, Chief Nurse, Chief Pharmacy for supporting the event! Weien Chow and myself co-chair this compact band of brothers and sisters. We know our mission well, we live it every day: to make our patient experience more about them than ever. Seamless, Safe and Caring.Using digital and AI tools we are redesigning processes and workflows, because helping our staff get in control and on top of the workload, going home from work refreshed (empowered) and not exhausted, is the key to better patient care. Happy healthcare staff : happy patients.Almost three decades ago I captained a women’s soccer team and played co-ed soccer in school. I can’t recall a match where I played for myself, only for my mates on my left and right. AI is a team sport, and at CGH we win together. Thank you ResMed for inviting me to speak and Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) for continuing to nurture our thriving MedTech sector. I am heartened as healthcare innovation is getting another huge boost with our government injecting 1.5B into the AI economy in Singapore 🇸🇬.I enthused that Healthcare + AI is the place to be, as the world has truly woken up to AI’s enormous potential in healthcare : because of the richness of data in medicine (almost 36% of global data) and the unique challenges facing us all:Ageing populations Rising healthcare costsShortage of trained healthcare professionalsPandemics and Climate changeHealthcare equity(we usually speak of opportunities when there is one area of need, here are 5)#artificialintelligence #healthcaretransformation#bigdataWe had a rich and deep discussion with an electrifying q&a afterwards Lawrence Wee Wendy Wen Yi Leong Constance Tang Ying Yan Yang Santanu Dutt William Lee nice to see many old friends and new ones!

Just started reading Crossing the Chasm by Geoffrey Moore. Thanks Dimitry Tran co-founder, Annalise for sharing this book tip.many of us innovators have heard this term “valley of death” without fully appreciating the research that went behind this now famous warning. The valley of death is real, and radiology AI is crossing it as we speak. Without software, there is no hardware business: NVIDIA , AMD , TSMC, Qualcomm, Samsung Semiconductor. 🙏 #artificialintelligence #radiologyAI #earlymajority #aiadoption #withoutsoftwarethereisnohardware

Bold and transformative solutions are required to update healthcare. Only 38% of eligible women attend breast screening in Singapore, significantly less than OECD nations. “Why” has been explored many times, from “Asian fatalism” to fear of post-surgical disfigurement, and anxiety around breast compression during mammography. With AI, we open up many “ifs”If, we can detect breast cancer at an increased rate (evidence shows up to a 20% increase), does the value of mammogram go “up” for patients? If, we can explore breast ultrasound with AI enabled detection, does this improve access? If, we incorporate breast screening (e.g with ultrasound) into the wellness movement does screening become part of the “wellness” culture that is trending so strongly nowadays? Wellness is the biggest “flex”, it is no longer cool to go unscreened. We know cancer has increased 80% in those under the age of 50 over the past 30 years (relative risk vs a still low absolute risk, but the statistics are worrisome). Bold and transformative solutions are required.#AIinMedicine #radiology #artificialintelligence

More women going for first breast cancer screening, but not the second tnp.straitstimes.com
