In this article, the study assessed the domestication process of humankind within the frame of urbanization and power accumulation. Within this framework, by giving various examples from chicken farms. The study expresses the author’s opinions on the analogy of the “liberated human beings” in cities and the “free-range” chickens in farms. It has also been tried to explain how a city acts as a human farm. Cities are governed by the ones holding power similar to the farms are ruled by farmers and humans during their history of civilization have lost their right of deciding on their lives and fates against this power as the domesticated animals in farms. It is necessary to give up these cities which are models of life organizations from the Old and the Middle Ages. Models of settlements which became even more inhumane as results of modernization and neo-liberalization strategies. The study revealed that With the scientific and technologic improvements and the developments of in science and humanities, it is possible to easily replace the city model of communal life with a better one -The one in which people can be more free and happy and will give more life to the earth and contribute to the aliveness within it.

9. Study of Light Pollution in Urban Lighting in Nisantasi Example
Urban lighting is affecting both the lighting comfort and livings' (humans, animal, and plants) health in many dimensions. ... Youssef Askar, Taher Abdel-Ghani, ...
To make urban identity-forming components visible by making use of technologic improvements, and to make the city livable for everybody by enhancing aesthetic and charming attraction are becoming important for urban designers. Lighting is becoming an important factor to suit cities to livable places for livings in all comfort conditions. By the improvement of science and technology, to organize the life spaces of livings according to today’s comfort conditions are considered more and more important. Urban lighting is affecting both the lighting comfort and livings’ (humans, animal, and plants) health in many dimensions. The light used on the unsuitable spot, unsuitable direction, unsuitable amount and unsuitable time is defined as light pollution. Within the scope of this study, national and international literature research related to urban lighting is done and basing criteria are identified. In the frame of these identified criteria, Nisantasi example is examined in the context of lighting pollution. Important streets and lanes and important historical and religious structures that gained a seat in public memory are identified. Designing criteria of the lighting tools existing in these identified areas and their suitability according to their spot are evaluated and measuring their illuminance sufficiency, the issues which are detected as light pollution are stated. In conclusion, the studies done in our country are cited and the issues that are to be done to prevent light p...

12. Grazing camels under semi-extensive production system: selectivity, feed ...
13 aug 2024 · World Review of Animal Production, 1983;XIX(3):July. Askar AR. Effects of feed intake level on digestion and energy utilization in desert sheep ...
It was proposed that camels are more effective than other livestock species in selecting plants for their nutritional value. They may self-regulate their voluntary feed intake to satisfy their nutritional needs. This study was designed to investigate camels’ feeding selectivity and ability to cover nutritional requirements when grazing alfalfa (high in protein) and/ or barley (high in energy) in a desert climate. Eighteen lactating camels were equally divided into three feeding treatments. They grazed daily on alfalfa, barley, or a mixed pasture of both, for two periods of one month each. The concentrate supplement was individually administered at 40 g/kg BW0.75, divided into two equal parts, in the morning and in afternoon. Total energy expenditure (EE) was estimated by heart rate (HR) monitors for 48 h after being calibrated by oxygen consumption using an upgraded face mask open-circuit respiratory system. During the first period, camels had a greater forage intake and digestibility when they grazed barley rather than alfalfa, while those grazing mixed pasture performed intermediately. In the second period, camels had a similar forage intake and digestibility among treatments due to a decline in barley intake and digestibility compared to the first period, which was expected since the preferred plant part gradually shifted from barley grains to predominantly straw as a function of time. Similar HR and EE were found across periods and treatments. As a result of gre...
